Why is it so hard to ask for help?

Now that you’ve visited the blog, you’ll notice how the first post was made an entire year ago and there hasn’t been one posted since… there’s good reason for that. And it’s not because I haven’t written any posts, but because I was experiencing technical difficulties getting my written posts to show up on my website.

If you’re like me, anything IT-related is above my pay grade!

But asking for help seemed like too much… or at least just as much as the annoyance that my problem had become.

So what did I do?

Well, I Googled. And I Googled some more. And I asked for “thoughts” from people who I thought miiiiiiiiiggghhhttt know the answer (they, in fact, also did not know the answer). And then I avoided.

There were far too many pressing to-dos in life that needed my attention more. However, this issue remained a thorn in my side for many months.

Until, that is, I actually asked for help from the people who I knew were the experts in this department. And obviously… they had my solution and it took a few mere moments to correct the problem.

Was I surprised by this? Not a bit. Was I annoyed with myself for waiting so long for the solution that came so easily and quickly to expert eyes? 1,000%.

I know with certainty this struggle is not unique to me. Though you may not be experiencing technical difficulties, you may be finding yourself short on storage space, consumed with clutter, frustrated when it comes to finding needed belongings, and annoyed when it’s time to put it all away for incoming company.
